Promoting Ethical Labor Practices in Thai Sugar Farms through Social Behavior and Communication
Goal
Improve labor practices in sugarcane farming, with a focus on mitigating debt bondage issues such as advanced payments and the absence of written contracts, directly impacting Trafficking in Persons.
Outcome
Empowered 7 Khmer workers, 8 Thai workers, 16 Thai farm owners with work contracts for seasonal workers translated in Thai and Khmer. Previously to the project, no specific contracts existed for the seasonal workers in sugarcane.
